The FReeZACentral Tour is set to rock the towns of Mildura, Shepparton and Horsham with three awesome regional lineups of FREE drug, smoke and alcohol free entertainment in the month of March.

This essential all ages regional tour is organised by young people, for young people. The tour is the result of the work of 50 young participants in the FReeZACentral mentoring program, which gives young people hands-on experience in the music industry. This year’s FReeZACentral tour events are partnerships with regional festivals, and the result of young people making creative and youth-relevant contributions to local community festival events.

The FReeZACentral Tour hits Mildura on Saturday March 3, Shepparton on Saturday March 17 and Horsham on Friday March 23.

Mildura: Saturday March 3, 7.30pm-10.30pm
FReeZACentral presents a free, all ages opening night concert at the Mildura Wentworth Arts Festival featuring hip hop songsters TZU, melodic storyteller Monique Brumby, local acoustic singer-songwriter Rachel McGlashan plus soundscapes by Damian Ietto and DJ Luke John.

Shepparton: Saturday March 17, 11am-11pm
FreeZACentral brings a killer lineup to the SHINE Festival, organised by the youth of Greater Shepparton. Melodic “screamo” band The Getaway Plan are joined by Oz hip hop crew TZU and local rootsy rock outfit, Ryan Meeking and the Better Health, all at Shepparton’s S-Cape Skate Park.

Horsham: Friday March 23, 7.30pm-10.30pm
The free, all ages opening event for The Art Is…Everywhere Festival will feature blues-rock trio The Vasco Era, retro Aussie rockers The Casanovas and local talent curated by FReeZACentral, in the Sound Shell at Horsham’s Sawyer Park.

A free compilation CD will be available at all FReeZACentral tour events featuring the young musicians from FReeZACentral’s mentoring program. The CD project has provided real music industry experience for all the young people who worked on the recording, design, and marketing of the CD, from concept to finished product.

All FReeZACentral tour events are youth and family friendly and are all ages, fully supervised, drug, smoke and alcohol-free events. FReeZACentral is funded by the Department for Victorian Communities and managed by The Push and Mushroom Marketing. FReeZACentral is supported by Victoria University and the Council of Victorian YMCAs.
